Brief introduction of Fuyang
Fuyang, also called as Fuchun in old times, once one of the thirty-six districts in Qin Dynasty, is located in the southwest of Hangzhou city. It has an area of 1,830 square kilometers and a population of 620,000. As one of first coastal cities approved to open up to the outside world, Fuyan today is the 38th of the top 100 counties in China in its comprehensive development.
“Beautiful scenery under the sun is in Fuchun.” Fuyang boasts a scenic landscape with green hills and clear streams. Poets and writers in dynasties never stopped singing high praises of its beauty.It is exactly the case of outstanding people lending glory to a remarkable place. There are many resorts in the city: Sunquan’s hometown, the Wu emperor during the Three-Nation period; Yanguang’s fishing stone (the intellectual lived in East-Han dynasty);Donggao’s tomb, who was the great scholar in Qing dynasty; the contemporary writer Yu Dafu ‘s old houses; the splendid Longmen Building Complex built in Ming and Qing dynasties; and the famous painter Huang Gongwan’s cottage, in which he lived when he tried to escape from the society in Yuan dynasty. (His masterpiece is the painting “Living in the Fuchun hills”.)Recently, based on the newly-found huge limestone caves, a tour project known as “Fuchun Peach Garden” is well-underway.
Fuyang city is the forefront of the national golden traveling route “Hangzhou City -Fuchunjiang River-Xinanjiang River-Mount Huanshan”and is right under the influence of Shanghai Pudong Economic Zone.The river and the hills, along with the islands and forests render the little city particular scenery. The largest freshwater swimming pool in East China, the cultural village showing ancient paper making and paper print, Huang Gongwan Forest Park, Hangzhou Wild Animal World, and the International Golf Links scatter in the city. Fuyang has gained the name of a sanitary city, a green city and a city with a pleasant environment.
As right on the point of East Longitude 120゜ and North Latitude 30゜, Fuyang is in the subtropical monsoon climate belt. The climate of the city is mild with four distinctive seasons. Products abound and the people live in plenty. Fuyang is one of the national bases for commercial rice and the key county for tea and cocoon products. Dried fruits, edible funguses, dried bamboo shoots, skin of soy-bean milk are the main local farm products. Aluminum, zinc, iron, silver, calcite, limestone, marble, etc, more than 20 minerals are found in reserve, in which the quantity and the quality of the limestone mine are incomparable in the country. Besides, the resources of the building materials, such as sand and granite, are rich. Telecom appliances, paper-made, mechanic electrical production and water-power are developing into the mainstay of Fuyang, built on the firm foundation of industrial economy, and excellent conditions for foreign trade and scientific research. Fuyang as the bases for telecom industry and paper-made has gained a national fame. The infrastructure in the aspects of postal communication, transportation, and water-power is in the first rate in the region of Hangzhou. Fuchun is becoming the hot land opening-wide up to the world.
